Novel technique of temporary abdominal closure with continuous medial fascial traction dynamic for patients with open abdomen / Salín Pereira Warr ; Jhonny Alberto Sierra Marín
Título : Novel technique of temporary abdominal closure with continuous medial fascial traction dynamic for patients with open abdomen Tipo de documento : documento electrónico Autores : Salín Pereira Warr, ; Jhonny Alberto Sierra Marín, Fecha de publicación : 2018 Títulos uniformes : Hernia Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave : Open abdomen temporary abdominal closure primary delayed fascial closure Resumen : Open abdomen has been an effective treatment for abdominal catastrophes in trauma and general surgery, is one of the greatest advances in recent decades and has become a common procedure in both trauma and general surgery. Temporary abdominal closure techniques in managing open abdomen help to achieve many benefits without incurring many complications. We present a series of patients in which a temporary abdominal closure technique was used that generates continuous medial fascial traction dynamic in patients with open abdomen for different causes. Título : Scar sarcoidosis: A rare entity found by 18F-FDG-PET/CT Tipo de documento : documento electrónico Autores : Mónica Alexandra Vidal González, ; Juan Esteban López Amaya, ; Jhonny Alberto Sierra Marín, ; Ana Cristina Ruiz Suárez, Fecha de publicación : 2018 Títulos uniformes : Radiology Case Reports Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave : Scar sarcoidosis Positron emission tomography FDG Resumen : F-labeled fluoro-2-positron deoxyglucose emission tomography/computed tomography has been widely used in malignancy assessment, however, is not tumor-specific and may be taken up by non-malignant conditions such as sarcoidosis. Sarcoidosis is a systemic inflammatory disorder and scar sarcoidosis is a rare manifestation of the disease. A 60-year-old man with a past medical history of synchronous colon adenocarcinoma and clear cell renal cell carcinoma with clinical suspicion of tumor recurrence. 18 F-labeled fluoro-2-positron deoxyglucose emission tomography/computed tomography scan demonstrated lesions with increased fluorodeoxyglucose uptake in mediastinal and left supraclavicular lymph nodes, along with hypermetabolic cutaneous foci that corresponded with previous surgical scars. Skin biopsy was suggestive of sarcoidosis. Mención de responsabilidad : M Vidal, A Alvarado, J López, J Sierra, A Ruíz Referencia : Radiol Case Rep. 2018 Sep 15;13(6):1216-1219.
