Spontaneous coronary artery dissection associated with exercise as a cause of cardiac arrest / Jhon Edwar García Rueda ; Ricardo Londoño García ; Yesid Alberto Saavedra González
Título : Spontaneous coronary artery dissection associated with exercise as a cause of cardiac arrest Otros títulos : Disección coronaria espontánea asociada a ejercicio como causa de parada cardíaca Tipo de documento : documento electrónico Autores : Jhon Edwar García Rueda, ; Ricardo Londoño García, ; Yesid Alberto Saavedra González, Fecha de publicación : 2022 Títulos uniformes : Cardiovascular and Metabolic Science Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave : Spontaneous coronary artery dissection acute coronary syndrome coronary artery disease Resumen : Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a rare cause of acute myocardial infarction, mainly occurring in young and middle-aged people without cardiovascular risk factors. The clinical presentation depends on the degree of involvement and can range from chest pain in 85-96% of cases, acute coronary syndrome with ST-elevation (STEACS) in 20-50%, ventricular arrhythmias in 3-5%, cardiogenic shock in 2%, sudden death or cardiac tamponade. Some predisposing factors include female gender, pregnancy, age. Coronary angiography is the method of choice for diagnosis and classification. Regarding its treatment, conservative management is preferred in stable patients. The case of a patient with STEACS and cardiac arrest secondary to spontaneous coronary dissection while performing a physical activity is presented. Título : The de winter electrocardiographic pattern Tipo de documento : documento electrónico Autores : Tatiana Arroyave Peña, ; Jairo Giovanni Moncayo Viveros, Fecha de publicación : 2018 Títulos uniformes : Journal of Cardiology & Current Research Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave : Electrocardiography acute coronary syndrome myocardial reperfusion chest pain Resumen : We present a clinical case of a patient, without previous cardiac history, admitted to the emergency department with chest pain at low probability for coronary artery disease. The first electrocardiogram showed high-risk changes that were mistakenly interpreted as normal; serial electrocardiograms did not show dynamic changes in ST-segment or in the T wave. The patient remained asymptomatic and with hemodynamic stability. Ultrasensitive troponin was positive, and echocardiography reported a structurally healthy heart. Finally, the patient was submitted to diagnostic coronary angiography, evidencing involvement of the proximal anterior descending artery. After reviewing again the initial electrocardiogram, it revealed a high-risk pattern (the de Winter). Título : Mechanical thrombectomy using the Solitaire stent in a left main coronary artery: A novel approach to coronary thrombus retrieval Tipo de documento : documento electrónico Autores : Carlos Esteban Uribe, Fecha de publicación : 2017 Títulos uniformes : Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions Idioma : Inglés (eng) Palabras clave : Coronary thrombosis acute coronary syndrome stent thrombectomy Resumen : The Solitaire stent is a self‐expanding nitinol, fully retrievable stent that was originally designed for applications in cerebral circulation. Expanded indications for its use in mechanical embolectomy during acute ischemic stroke have proven safe and effective. Herein, we describe a novel use of this stent to perform a mechanical thrombectomy of a large left main coronary artery thrombus.
